The western Crimean coastline where the enchanting resort of Evpatoria is situated is a wonderful place to discover. The city, surrounded by salty lakes, was founded 2,500 years ago by Greeks near the bay with fine golden beaches. The multinational population of Evpatoria at different stages of its long and turbulent history included Turks, Tartars, Armenians and Russians who passed on to us splendid architectural monuments, including the Turkish Thermae and a unique medieval water pipe system. The city reached its prime at the turn of the 19th century when mud treatment made the resort particularly famous, triggering its rapid development. Curved streets and picturesque small houses in harmony with an oriental mosque and orthodox churches, transparent seawaters and tender sun produce unforgettable impression on visitors.
